Wool bedding isn't rare—you can find it from dozens of brands. But not all wool bedding is created equal.

Here's 5 things that sets us apart from every other brand you're considering.

about the product

What's the difference between the Fleece and Velour versions?

Both versions share the same construction: 450 gr/m² of pure Texeler wool fill, with a winter side of 550 gr/m² wool blended with soft cashmere fibres, and a summer side of high-quality percale cotton. The difference is the texture of the winter side.

The Fleece version has a soft, plush wool finish that feels warm and cosy underfoot.

The Velour version has a smoother, more refined wool surface — slightly less plush, with a sleeker feel under the sheet. Both perform identically in terms of warmth and moisture management; the choice comes down to which texture you prefer beneath you.

How is an underblanket different from a topper?

Both add a layer of comfort to your mattress, but they solve slightly different problems. A topper is thicker (around 6cm) and focuses on cushioning and pressure relief — it lays flat directly on top of the mattress. An underblanket is thinner (3-4cm), warmer, and designed to add a thermal and moisture-managing layer beneath you. It attaches with elastic straps at the four corners to stay securely in place, and like the topper, it sits beneath your fitted sheet. If you're after cushioning, choose a topper. If you're after warmth and dryness, choose an underblanket. Many sleepers pair the two for the complete sleep system.

How does the underblanket help with warmth and moisture?

The wool fill creates an insulating layer between you and your mattress, trapping warmth where you need it rather than letting it escape into a cold mattress beneath. At the same time, the wool fibres absorb perspiration effortlessly, keeping the bed dry and preventing the moisture build-up that creates cold spots in your mattress over time. The result is a bed that feels softer, drier, and more consistently warm — particularly noticeable on cold nights or for sleepers who run cool. The reversible design also lets you flip to the cotton side for cooler, more breathable sleep in summer.

Is the underblanket good for joint or muscle pain?

The stable warmth and dryness an underblanket provides can be particularly valuable for sleepers with sensitive muscles or joints. Cold mattresses tend to draw heat away from the body, and the trapped moisture creates "cold bridges" that can worsen stiffness overnight. By keeping the sleeping surface warm and dry, the underblanket helps maintain consistent body temperature throughout the night — which many sleepers with rheumatic or joint sensitivity find genuinely helpful for waking up less stiff and sore.

About Product Maintenance

Do I have to wash the bedding once in a while?
No. Wool has natural self-cleaning properties, so Texeler bedding requires virtually no maintenance. However, we recommend airing your bedding outdoors occasionally to keep it fresh.

Why can't I wash my bedding in the washing machine?
We strongly advise against machine washing most Texeler products. Machine washing strips away the natural lanolin (wool fat) that gives our bedding its exceptional properties—temperature regulation, moisture-wicking, and antibacterial protection.

Rest assured: all wool is thoroughly cleaned before processing using specialized techniques that preserve the beneficial lanolin.

For daily maintenance: Simply spot-clean any stains as needed or air your bedding outdoors monthly.

Need a washable option? Our Washable Wool Comforter is specially treated to be machine-washable at 40°C without compromising its natural benefits—ideal for families with children or those who prefer the convenience of machine washing.
