Tencel Wool Duvets

The softest cover in the range — pure Texeler wool wrapped in silky, sustainable Tencel.

What is Tencel?

Tencel is a brand name for lyocell — a fibre derived from sustainably harvested eucalyptus wood pulp. It is produced in a closed-loop manufacturing process that recycles the water and solvents used, making it one of the most environmentally responsible textile fibres available. The resulting fabric is exceptionally soft, breathable and biodegradable.

How does Tencel feel compared to cotton or satin?

Tencel is the softest cover material in the WarmWool range. It is silkier and lighter than percale cotton and has a similar smoothness to satin but without the sheen. It drapes beautifully and feels almost weightless against the skin — particularly noticeable in the lighter 120gr and 200gr weights.

Which Tencel duvet weight is right for me?

The 120gr is ideal for warm sleepers or summer use. The 200gr suits those who find 120gr too light but prefer something breathable and not too heavy. The 365gr is designed as a year-round duvet — enough warmth for cooler months while remaining breathable in summer.

Is the Tencel cover sustainably sourced?

Yes — the Tencel lyocell used in the cover is made from FSC certified wood pulp. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification guarantees that the wood used as raw material comes from responsibly managed forests — forests that are harvested at a pace that allows natural regeneration, protecting biodiversity and the surrounding ecosystem. Combined with Tencel's closed-loop production process that recycles over 99% of its solvents, it is one of the most sustainably produced cover materials available in bedding today.

Tencel is derived from sustainably harvested eucalyptus wood pulp — processed in a closed-loop system that recycles water and solvents with minimal environmental impact. The result is a fabric that is exceptionally soft, naturally breathable and produced with considerably less land and water than conventional cotton. When combined with pure Texeler sheep wool fill, it becomes bedding that is as considered in its making as it is in its performance.

The Tencel wool duvets available at WarmWool feature a cover made entirely from Tencel lyocell — a fabric with a silky, almost weightless feel against the skin. It is smoother than percale cotton and has a natural drape that sits differently on the bed. Sleepers who have never tried Tencel often describe the first night as unexpectedly light — the cover simply disappears.

Inside, the fill is pure Texeler sheep wool — sheared from the Texel Island flock and processed without synthetic additives. Wool regulates body temperature naturally, responding to warmth and moisture rather than simply insulating. On warm nights it wicks perspiration away from the body and releases it into the air. On cold nights its natural crimp traps warmth without creating the heavy, stifling feeling of synthetic fills.

The collection includes three products covering the full range of sleeping temperatures. The Tencel-Wool Duvet 120gr is the lightest in the Texeler range — designed for warm sleepers and summer use. The Tencel-Wool Duvet 200gr sits between summer and all-season, offering light warmth for those who find 120gr too light but prefer something less substantial than an all-season weight. The Tencel-Wool Duvet 365gr is a true all-season duvet — one weight for the full year, balancing breathability in summer with enough warmth for cooler nights.

The Tencel cover used in this collection is made from FSC certified wood pulp — sourced from responsibly managed forests and produced in a closed-loop system that recycles over 99% of its solvents.
