Frequently Asked Questions
Each pillow has a structured support core — a latex or equivalent layer — wrapped in pure Texeler wool balls. The core holds consistent shape and height through the night, keeping your neck aligned regardless of how you move, while the wool around it provides the breathability, temperature regulation, and moisture-wicking you'd expect from natural wool. Standard wool pillows rely entirely on the fill for support, which works for most sleepers but can fall short if you need firmer, more consistent alignment.
They're designed for side sleepers, who need consistent height and firmness to keep the spine aligned, and for anyone who wakes up with neck stiffness, shoulder tension, or headaches from inadequate pillow support. They're also a good choice if you've tried softer pillows and found they flatten or shift too much during the night.
Yes — these pillows (except the supple) feature a discreet zipper that lets you remove wool-ball fill yourself. Most pillows arrive fairly firm and full, so taking out a small handful at a time lets you soften the pillow until it feels right. We recommend removing fill gradually and testing the feel before going further. We don't currently sell separate refill bags, so the adjustment goes one direction — but for most sleepers, that's exactly the flexibility they need.
Yes — the wool fill surrounds the core on allsides, so you still sleep directly on wool. That means you get the full breathability, moisture-wicking, and dust mite resistance of a pure wool pillow, with the added alignment support of the structured core underneath.
If you sleep on your back or stomach, generally wake up rested, and don't have specific neck issues, a standard wool filling pillow is usually enough. If you sleep on your side, wake with neck or shoulder discomfort, or have tried pillows that collapse overnight, a supportive pillow is worth the step up.
Around 5 to 7 years with proper care — similar to our classic wool pillows. The structured core holds its shape for the full lifespan, and the wool fill can be refreshed by airing it out a few times a year. Replace it when the core loses firmness or the pillow no longer keeps your neck aligned.

Our supportive wool pillows take the natural comfort of Texeler sheep wool and add a structured support element — designed for sleepers who need more than a standard fill can offer. These are the premium tier of our pillow range, combining the breathable, hypoallergenic properties of pure Texeler wool with targeted neck support that a standard pillow simply cannot provide.
The defining difference is the support core. Each pillow in this collection includes a structured layer — latex or equivalent — that maintains consistent neck alignment throughout the night, regardless of how you move. The Texeler wool filling surrounds this core, providing the temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties that make wool the superior pillow material. The result is a pillow that supports precisely where it needs to and breathes everywhere else.
These ergonomic wool pillows are particularly suited to side sleepers, who typically require more consistent height and firmness to keep the spine aligned, and to anyone who wakes with neck stiffness or shoulder tension from inadequate pillow support. The combination of structured support and natural wool fill eliminates the common trade-off between firmness and comfort.
