Frequently Asked Questions
Both ranges are filled with 100% pure Texeler sheared wool and share the same natural benefits — hypoallergenic, temperature regulating and moisture wicking. The difference is structure. Wool filling pillows offer pure natural comfort with no added support system. Supportive pillows add either ergonomic neck support in the Deluxe versions, or an adjustable latex core in the Supple range — designed for sleepers who need their pillow to actively support their head, neck and spine.
Yes — these pillows (except for the supple) features a discreet zipper that lets you remove wool-ball fill yourself. Most pillows arrive fairly firm and full, so taking out a small handful at a time lets you soften the pillow until it feels right. We recommend removing fill gradually and testing the feel before going further. We don't currently sell separate refill bags, so the adjustment goes one direction — but for most sleepers, that's exactly the flexibility they need.
The Deluxe versions feature an additional ergonomic neck support zone built into the pillow structure. This provides targeted support specifically where the neck meets the pillow, reducing tension and helping to keep the cervical spine aligned through the night — particularly beneficial for sleepers who wake up with neck stiffness or shoulder pain.
In short — you don't need to. Texeler wool is naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it inherent antibacterial properties that resist odours and bacteria without washing. Combined with its moisture wicking and breathable nature, dirt simply doesn't get trapped in the filling the way it does with synthetic alternatives. If you want to freshen your pillow occasionally, simply air it outside for a few hours and it will be as good as new.
Yes. Texeler wool is naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites, mold and allergens without any chemical treatment. Unlike synthetic pillow fills which can harbour allergens over time, wool's natural properties actively create a cleaner, healthier sleeping environment — making it an excellent choice for allergy and asthma sufferers.
Memory foam contours well and supports the neck, but it traps heat and can feel stiff or chemical-smelling at first. Down is soft and mouldable but flattens overnight, offers little support, and can trigger allergies. Wool sits in the middle: supportive yet soft, naturally breathable so it sleeps cool, and resistant to dust mites — a good all-rounder for most sleepers.
A quality wool pillow lasts around 5 to 7 years — longer than most synthetic or down pillows. Fluff it regularly and air it out a few times a year. When it no longer springs back into shape or stops supporting your neck properly, it's time to replace it.
