All-Season Zipper System
The zip-set duvet is really two duvets in one. A lighter 250 gr/m² layer and a warmer 450 gr/m² layer each work on their own — or zip together into a single 700 gr/m² duvet for the coldest months. That's three levels of warmth from one purchase, so the same duvet keeps you comfortable from high summer through deep winter.
An Innovative Tencel-Wool Blend Cover
Most Tencel duvets stop at a 100% Tencel cover but the 'Ultimate Best' does not. It's wrapped in a woven blend of 90% Tencel and 10% wool — so you get Tencel's silky, breathable, moisture-wicking surface with a thread of wool's natural temperature regulation and warmth woven right into the fabric itself. It's a small innovation that makes a real difference in how the cover performs, night after night.
Premium Double-Combed Lambswool
The fill of the 'Ultimate Best' range is double-combed lambswool — our most premium wool. Lambswool comes from a lamb's first shearing, when the fibres are at their softest, finest and most elastic. It's then double-combed, passed through fine teeth twice to strip out short fibres and tangles, leaving only the longest, smoothest, strongest fibres behind. The result is a fill that's exceptionally soft, naturally springy, and built to hold its loft season after season.
The Texeler Difference

Frequently Asked Questions
about the product
'Ultimate Best' is Texeler's premium tier — the finest duvet in the collection. For decades, Texeler sheep wool has been the ideal duvet filling, but the outer cover was always a compromise: cotton, satin, or tencel were the practical options, none of them as naturally performant as the wool inside. After years of research, the technology finally allowed wool to be woven directly into the cover fabric itself, and the Ultimate Best launched in 2020. The result is a duvet where wool's natural breathability, moisture regulation, and temperature balance work on both the inside and the outside — not just the fill. It's premium bedding in the truest sense: built without compromise.
The Ultimate Best is designed for sleepers who want the absolute best and appreciate the difference true craftsmanship makes. It suits those drawn to natural, sustainable luxury, people with sensitive skin or temperature sensitivity, and anyone investing in bedding they'll keep for decades. It's a considered purchase — not the cheapest option, but the most refined one Texeler produces.
By working from both sides of the duvet at once. In a standard duvet, only the fill regulates temperature — the cover traps or blocks heat to varying degrees depending on the material. In the Ultimate Best, wool is woven into the cover as well as the fill, so heat and moisture move freely through the entire duvet. The result is a sleep environment that stays in a consistent comfort zone: warm when you're cold, cool when you overheat, never clammy, never stifling. Sleepers often say it's the first duvet they've stopped noticing at night — which is exactly how good bedding should feel.
Lighter than you'd expect for an all-season duvet, with a silky, softly textured cover that drapes beautifully. Because wool is woven into the cover as well as the fill, the entire duvet breathes and regulates temperature from both sides — meaning it adapts to your body more responsively than conventional duvets. Sleepers often describe it as "balanced" — warm without being heavy, breathable without feeling thin.
The ZipSet comes with two separate wool duvets — one at 250gr/m² and one at 450gr/m² — that zip together along the edges. Use the lightest layer alone in summer, the heavier layer in spring and autumn, or zip both together for a combined 700gr/m² of full winter warmth. One flexible system that adapts across the seasons, with no need to store or swap duvets.
practical information
I need a queen/king size - do you have that?
Our standard sizes are European (measured in cm), but we understand not everyone measures that way!
Need a queen? King? Something custom? Email us at info@warmwool.eu with your bedding size, and we'll make sure you get the perfect fit. We customize to any size you need.
(We do not make custom pillows)
Do I have to wash the bedding once in a while?
No. Wool has natural self-cleaning properties, so Texeler bedding requires virtually no maintenance. However, we recommend airing your bedding outdoors occasionally to keep it fresh.
Why can't I wash my bedding in the washing machine?
We strongly advise against machine washing most Texeler products. Machine washing strips away the natural lanolin (wool fat) that gives our bedding its exceptional properties—temperature regulation, moisture-wicking, and antibacterial protection.
Rest assured: all wool is thoroughly cleaned before processing using specialized techniques that preserve the beneficial lanolin.
For daily maintenance: Simply spot-clean any stains as needed or air your bedding outdoors monthly.
Need a washable option? Our Washable Wool Comforter is specially treated to be machine-washable at 40°C without compromising its natural benefits—ideal for families with children or those who prefer the convenience of machine washing.
