The Texeler Difference
Wool bedding isn't rare—you can find it from dozens of brands. But not all wool bedding is created equal.
Here's 5 things that sets us apart from every other brand you're considering.
Frequently Asked Questions
about the product
Both toppers use Texeler wool fill at the same generous quantity — the wool of four Texel sheep goes into a double-sized topper. The difference is in the cover.
The Plus has a soft velour top layer and a cotton underside, designed to sit on your mattress with the velour facing up.
The Extra is fully reversible, with a cashmere fleece top layer on one side and a cotton-fleece underside on the other — letting you flip it to suit the season, with the cashmere fleece facing up in winter for extra warmth, and the cooler cotton side facing up in summer.
A 6 cm layer of Texeler wool laid directly on your mattress changes how the bed feels and performs. The wool fibres provide gentle cushioning across the body, relieving pressure on the shoulders, hips, and joints without compromising spinal alignment. They also regulate temperature naturally — keeping the sleep surface warm in winter and cool in summer — and wick moisture away from your body, preventing the clammy build-up synthetic toppers are prone to. The stable temperature wool maintains throughout the night is particularly valued by sleepers with rheumatoid or joint sensitivity, where overnight temperature fluctuations can worsen stiffness and discomfort. Most sleepers notice the difference from the first night.
Not strictly — but it adds real benefits even on a quality mattress. It extends the mattress's lifespan by protecting it from wear and moisture, adds a layer of natural temperature regulation, and provides cushioning that synthetic mattresses often lack. Worth considering especially if you run hot or cold at night, or want to preserve a good mattress for longer.
The topper lays flat directly on top of your mattress, beneath your fitted sheet. The fitted sheet holds it in place during the night — no straps or attachments needed. The wool fill is heavy enough to settle naturally without shifting, so the topper feels like an extension of the mattress itself rather than a loose layer.
A topper, an underblanket, and a futon all enhance your sleep, but they solve different problems.
A wool mattress topper lays on top of your mattress, beneath your fitted sheet, adding cushioning, pressure relief, and temperature regulation to the surface you sleep on.
A wool underblanket sits between your mattress and your sheet, adding warmth and moisture management beneath you — particularly useful in colder months or for sleepers who want a warmer bed without changing the duvet.
A wool futon is a standalone sleeping surface in its own right, designed to be slept directly on (often on the floor or a base) rather than layered onto an existing mattress.
The choice depends on what you're trying to improve: comfort and pressure relief (topper), warmth from below (underblanket), or a complete natural sleeping surface (futon).
practical information
I need a queen/king size - do you have that?
Our standard sizes are European (measured in cm), but we understand not everyone measures that way!
Need a queen? King? Something custom? Email us at info@warmwool.eu with your bedding size, and we'll make sure you get the perfect fit. We customize to any size you need.
(We do not make custom pillows)
Do I have to wash the bedding once in a while?
No. Wool has natural self-cleaning properties, so Texeler bedding requires virtually no maintenance. However, we recommend airing your bedding outdoors occasionally to keep it fresh.
Why can't I wash my bedding in the washing machine?
We strongly advise against machine washing most Texeler products. Machine washing strips away the natural lanolin (wool fat) that gives our bedding its exceptional properties—temperature regulation, moisture-wicking, and antibacterial protection.
Rest assured: all wool is thoroughly cleaned before processing using specialized techniques that preserve the beneficial lanolin.
For daily maintenance: Simply spot-clean any stains as needed or air your bedding outdoors monthly.
Need a washable option? Our Washable Wool Comforter is specially treated to be machine-washable at 40°C without compromising its natural benefits—ideal for families with children or those who prefer the convenience of machine washing.

What does the warranty cover?
Manufacturing defects that appear during everyday use, across every component of the product — including the wool fill, the cover fabric, the stitching, and hardware like zippers or snap buttons. Damage from accidents, improper use, or improper care (such as machine washing products that aren't designed for it) isn't covered.
